Current Transducers and Probes for Vehicle Battery Charger development and test applications

GMW offers a range of Current Transducers and Probes that are appropriate for development and test of high current Battery Chargers.

The PEM Clip-Around Rogowski Coil AC Current Probes with several different Coil cross-sections and lengths and matched Analog Integrator enable measurements in the range of a few Hz to 50MHz of switching and ac currents without circuit disconnection.

Very high stability and resolution DaniSense DC/AC Current Transducers have an amplitude accuracy better than 0.01% and phase shift less than 0.1 degree from dc to 5kHz to enable very accurate charge metering calibration and system efficiency measurements.

The Bergoz IPCT Current Transducer has a large aperture of 82mm and a dc to 3kHz frequency response with a current resolution of 10uArms. It enables measurement of the total resistive and capacitive differential or leakage current in a cable bundle. The aperture is large enough that often a cable with connector can pass through the aperture without disassembly.

For quick diagnostic measurements the GMW CPC Current Probe Clips  have full-scale ranges from +/-250A to +/-2kA with a frequency response from dc to 75kHz. The CPC have a temperature rating from -40C to +100C and are vibration and moisture resistant enabling current monitoring in test cells or active vehicles.

GMW will be showing examples of these Current Transducers at the IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) in Anaheim, March 17-21, 2019 and Ian Walker will be giving a presentation on Wednesday, March 20.
