3470 Electromagnet System with Unipolar Field

Applications

This Electromagnet System provides a unipolar field with manual or voltage programming of current. The Electromagnet has small size and low mass and can be readily mounted with any field direction. It is appropriate for laboratory or production-line measurements of magnetic separation, magneto-optic and other magnetic characteristics where a bipolar field is not required. Options are available for axial holes for light entry and exit. A bipolar power supply system is also offered.

Specifications
Pole gap	Variable from 0 to 75mm.
Pole Face Diameter	Single Pole, 5mm and 40mm face diameter.
Operating Field	±0.65T at a pole gap of 20mm with ±6A excitation. (Higher fields with smaller gaps.) Intermittant operation to 8A excitation for approximately 0.8T with a 20mm pole gap.
Field Uniformity	±0.5% over an 18mm diameter disc in the median plane. (20mm pole gap.)
Current Stability	0.02% / 8 hours.
Current Control Resolution	12 bit.
Field Readout Resolution	12 bit (0.1mT up to 0.6T field).
Cooling	Water, 1l/min (0.26 US gpm). Air cooling up to approx. 3.5A excitation.
AC Power	115V/230Vac auto ranging, single phase, 50/60Hz, 11A max, (115V).
