This Electromagnet System achieves true bipolar field with computer control. It is particularly suitable for Hall effect studies, magneto-optical measurements, and high temperature superconductor investigations. The bipolar supply allows for smooth transition through zero current (and field) as well as accurate operation around zero field. Options are available for higher fields at reduced pole gaps (e.g. 2.4T at a 25mm gap with a 50mm pole face diameter), axial holes for light entry and exit, and unipolar power supplies. For larger pole gap requirements up to 127mm, refer to the Model 3473-50 which has 50A rather than 70A coils.
