AKM Linear Hall Magnetic ICs
AKM (Asahi) Linear Hall Effect IC Magnetic Sensors consist of a Hall Element and an Amplifer in a package. The sensors detect the magnetic field and generate an very small analog output signal proportional to the magnetic field. AKM offers 4 levels of sensitivities in the SMT (SOP) and SIP version.
The AKM non-programmable linear sensors offer a significant improvement in single axis linear Hall Effect sensing. Compared with other popular linear sensors on the market, the AKM linear sensor EQ-43XL and EQ-73XL Series has:

The AKM EQ-73XL Series sensor is ideal for slotted core open and closed loop current sensors. With significantly lower noise, the dynamic range will be significantly improved. The thin package enables a reduced core gap to increase the sensitivity and reduce the fringe field near the gap. The enhanced badnwidth increases the AC response by a factor of greater than 2.
Because of the very low noise level, the EQ sensors are also ideal for linear and angular sensing applications in the DC to 100kHz range.

0-12Arms Current Range - AN_13xKIT- Reference Design
The AN_13x Kits provide a reference design using the AKM EQ-73xL Linear Hall sensor ICs in a “gapped core” current sensor application. The kit includes a +5V regulator, however the circuit will work down to 2.7VDC. With the input voltage below 5V, the Hall IC supply is no longer regulated and the sensitivity, supply current and full scale output range will reduce by an amount directly proportional to the supply voltage.
The AKM EQ-73xL has a very fast response time, <5µS, thereby making it very useful for over current applications. The AKM EQ-73xL broadband output noise characteristic is low, <5mVpp, to give an operating range of about 2000mV/2.5mV or about 800:1.
