2D-VH-11 Outline The Sentron 2D-VD-11 Hall element has two vertical Hall devices on a single silicon chip, in a cross geometry with a common center and oriented at a relative angle of 90°. It is designed to provide two high sensitivity, bipolar outputs proportional to the magnetic field components Bx and By in the plane of the device surface. Compared to using two separated sensors, one for each component, the 2D-VH-11 provides precise angular orientation at one spatial location with a small 0.01mm³ active volume. This can be a particular advantage when measuring field components of a non-uniform magnetic field such as the fringing field of a permanent magnet.

The 2D-VH-11 positioned under a rotating magnet provides exact angle and rotation direction information. The angle may be computed from either Sx or Sy, and the direction is known from which signal (Sx or Sy) leads.
